In the early eighties a second wave of the folk music revival happened in the Copenhagen area of Denmark involving american folk music such as french-canadian music, old time (Appalachian) music, cajun and zydeco music. The musicians of The Barking Bulldogs were happy to be at the right place at the right time.
While the folk music scene to some extent in general has been declining the later years, the American folk music has prospered from an increasing interest in traditional American square and contra dances.
